It was 93 degrees yesterday.  I know I like it hot, but that was intense.  My friends from Chattanooga were up doing an audition for the show Hitmakers, so I thought I would show them around town for the afternoon.  We went to the East Nashville art festival and drooled over paintings and popsicles.  (I’ve tried to spell popsicles ten different ways and spellcheck keeps saying its wrong.)  Popcicles? Popsickels? Popcycles.  Whatever.  You know what Im talking about–those frozen treats that beat the heat.  Anyway, the heat reminded me that I need to update my friendbase of my summer newsings.

We will arrive in Vegas on Wednesday night (26th) where we will rendezvous with my Dad, who is just getting in from another epic trip to Thailand, and some other friends and family.  We will lose all of our money at poker tables with dollar blinds, and then have a buffet breakfast.  Hours later on Thursday, (27th) we will play a show at Feelgood’s (7pm).  It’s Vince Neil’s place on the strip.  We will leave Vegas Friday and head to L.A.  We will see Mary Brooks.  We will eat Katsuya for every meal.  I can’t wait to see all my Cali-friends.

I want to thank Myspace Records Friends and Family for helping to promote the west coast shows.  They’ve got awesome guys in that office.  I got to meet them in Austin during SXSW and we had a blast.  Hopefully I will see you guys at these shows??  Hmmm?  Yes.

I just finished the first day of tracking on the acoustic version of Matt Urmy’s record “Sweet Lonesome.”  He asked me to sing a little on it, and it turns out that I am singing a lot on it.  We are already in the process of putting a duo show together and booking some dates for August and September.

There are a couple other secret little thingies we have in the works that involve distribution and mechanical royalties, donations to charity and reading materials.  More to come…
